A traveling priest(Waki) meets a couple’s city people (Shite Tsure)in the village of Safu in Mutsu. The woman has a cloth woven with bird wings and the man has a beautiful decorated tree. When I try hearing, I know that all of them are famous these days and the cloth is thin cloth which is “difficult to get breasts”. The man has a Noshikigi tree and he says that he stands at the gate of the woman’s house as a sign of love. A woman takes in the man’s Nishiki, who should meet, and leaves it as it is for things that she does not want to meet, so it is said that there is a Nishikizuka that has been erected for three years and finally died, and was truck with the Nishiki. When they guided the monk to the mound, they disappeared into the mound. (Coming middle)
When the monk reads the sutras at night and makes a memorial service, the souls of the couple (later shite and later tsure) appear.” If you don’t enter the bottom of the abyss, your moments and neck will change (Takaoka-shinno).”
The woman weaves a thin cloth machine in the mound, and the man hits the closed gate with Nishikigi. However, there is no answer from the inside and the sound of the machine is mixed with the sound of insects like “Kirihataricho- Kirihara Richo”. In this way, currently of three years later”
Nishikigi isn’t in a thousand bundles and when it’s time to look inside the sword that is unknown to people (mystery in the sleeve).” he was finally able to meet and dead person danced a dance of joy (early dance).
Although it is a beautiful night-time dance, the monk’s dream awakened at dawn and the mound of Nonaka was just left there where the pine wind blew.
Highlights:
“Nishikigi” usually means the name of a plant of the Euonymus family, but “Nishiki” that appears in this work does not mean that, but refers to a beautifully decorated tree branch.
This ” Nishikigi “, also “narrow skill (Hoso Nuno) to appear in Waka poems, that is used in the poetry of the world.
Regarding these songs, the following episodes are included in the kagaku book “Shunrai Shinnou”, which was written about 300 years before the creation of this book.
── In the customs of Mutsu country, when a man wants to make a marriage proposal to a woman, rather than sending a letter as can’t talk directly together, it’s necessary to grow or put a Nishikigi tree in front of her house. If the woman consents, she will take the tree into the house, after which the man will be able to confront the woman and argue. If the woman doesn’t feel like it, the trees will be left as they are, and the trees that the man carried every day will pile up. After three years, the man is supposed to give up when 1000 bundles are piled up and still not accepted. This tree is called “Nishiki” because it is colored in five colors and decorated. In addition, the “narrow cloth thin cloth” is also from Mutsu, and is made by weaving bird hair. Since it is woven from a rare material, it is narrow in width and short in length, so it is worn underwear as underwear. That’s why she hides only my back and not her chest, so she sings “I don’t fit my chest” in the song …
This work is composed based on this episode, and is set in Mutsu Province, which is far from the city, and depicts the simple love between men and women.
One the way to Omine Katsuragi, Yamabushi of Mt.Dewahakuro stopped by Kasuga no Sato in Yamato. It’s a peaceful spring time. There was an old man (Shite) who was coming, so when I asked him the name of Shimizu here, he answered that it was a “Mirror of No Mori”. The old man seems to be No Mori.
In the past, when emperor Yuryaku used to hunt, the hawk (small hawks used for falconry) did not return while flying, so when No Mori (guardian of the forbidden field) was be taken to go to find it, he answered that “It’s waiting on the tree”. Another theory is that the No Mori’s mirror is a mirror possessed by a demon that protects the field and it is also a mirror to look into the human mind. “I’m looking at the No Mori’s mirror of the Hawk, I’m thinking about it” is a song from a new and old collection.
When Yamabushi asked to look at the demon’s mirror, the old man told to look at the water mirror and disappeared into the mound. (coming middle)
When this Yamabushi who has earned a long history and has legal power, prays with all his heart, but before long, the figure of a demon with a silver-shining mirror (later Shite) appears from the mound. It is a powerful and ferocious, terrifying figure (dance). The demon god reflects all sides of the north, south, east and west in the mirror, in addition, the heavens and the basement are completely reflected and the earth is trampled, after striding, he had returned to the abyss again.
No Mori’s mirror can be seen in Kiyosuke Fujiwara’s Okugisho Minamoto no Shunrai’s Mumeisho, and Kensho Hobashi’s Sodenakasho.
Highlights:
This play was created by Zeami based on the concept of the waka poem “Shin Kokin Wakashū” and the waka poem “Hashitaka no Mamoru’s Mirror, Thinking, Going Away”.
In the front, legends and stories about the field guard’s mirror are well incorporated, and the pond water is likened to a mirror that reflects everything, and the story of the field guard’s old man is full of emotion. Oni will appear in the latter part, but there are two types of demons, the “Crushing Wind” demon, which has changed human devotion and grudges, and the “Rikidofu” demon, which is a pure existence in nature. And do not give a good rating to the latter. The demon that appears in this work is a “powerful wind” demon, but it has been devised so that you can feel the atmosphere.
The story unfolds with a consistent artistry, while contrasting with the story of the lieutenant who has the elegance of the front and the powerful dance of the demon in the second half.
